Trade Book Experience

My trade book experience was a great one! I went to the Newburgh Free Library and picked out a book on minerals. The title of the book is Rocks and Minerals. This is a great book for teachers because it goes into depth on different types of minerals. It even gives you hands on activities to teach students in the book with pictures of each step. Students will love these real life pictures and will want to read more about the beautiful minerals and rocks! Many students have misconceptions about rocks and minerals that they are all the same. This book gives you easy activities to do with the students in the classroom or at home.

Making the animoto about my book was also a ton of fun! I took pictures from the book and I feel that this book sells itself! The beautiful pictures in this book are absolutely breathtaking. This is a great book to introduce the topic to the students. It is definitely easy to follow and goes over the what, where, how and why of these interesting rocks/minerals.

This book is a great way to break misconceptions! Going over the different types of minerals breaks the stereotype that all minerals are the same. Going over the differences between rocks and minerals connects to the students to break the stereotype that rocks and minerals are the same thing.
